2019-006A-Celebes Sea-Terrorist Threat

Description: 

A maritime threat has been reported in the vicinity of Mataking and Pom-Pom Islands in Malaysia. The nature of the threat is reliable reporting on September 28, 2019 of an Abu Sayyaf Group threat to abduct tourists in this area. Mariners and vessels are also at risk. The group may utilize two high speed boats armed with automatic weapons. Vessels are advised to exercise caution when transiting this area. Further updates will be provided when available. See U.S. Maritime Advisory 2019-011 for additional information on this area. This alert will automatically expire on October 5, 2019.
