2025-003A-Arabian Gulf, Strait of Hormuz, Gulf of Oman, and Arabian Sea-Retaliatory Strikes by Iranian Forces

Description

On June 23, 2025, in retaliation for the U.S. strike on Iranian nuclear facilities launched on June 21, 2025, Iran launched missile strikes on the U.S. air base at Al-Udeid in Qatar. This development could result in an increased threat to maritime traffic in the Arabian Gulf, Strait of Hormuz, Gulf of Oman, and Arabian Sea due to the possibility of future attacks by Iranian proxies or Iranian affiliated groups in this region. Per U.S. Maritime Advisory 2025-005 (Strait of Hormuz, and Gulf of Oman-Iranian Illegal Boarding / Detention / Seizure), exercise extreme caution when transiting these areas. Further updates will be provided when available.
