The Office of Technical Reviews provides environmental compliance support to the Agency and its programs and operations; including the USMMA, Ship Operations and Disposal, the RRF and NDRF and associated fleet sites.  The support covers a wide range of environmental laws, regulations, policies, standards, and Executive Orders.  With regard to the National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA), the Office is responsible for ensuring that appropriate environmental reviews and analyses are completed and that oversight is conducted for MARAD actions, to include Port and Intermodal Infrastructure Development; United States Marine Highways; Small Shipyard Grant Programs; Deepwater Port licensing; as well as operations within headquarters, at the Merchant Marine Academy, and at fleet and regional locations.  Finally, the Office provides environmental support to government and industry stakeholders, where appropriate.
