The table below lists projects that, in accordance with NEPA regulations, require MARAD to complete either an Environmental Assessment (EA) or an Environmental Impact Statement (EIS). The table can be sorted by state, project status, and NEPA class of action. Each project name links to additional project information, while the "Documents" column provides direct access to the EA or EIS, as well as the associated Finding of No Significant Impact (FONSI) or Record of Decision (ROD).

About

The Office of Environmental Compliance (MAR-410.1) is responsible for coordinating and overseeing National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) reviews for projects that have been determined to be major federal actions. DOT major federal actions may include grants, construction, regulatory actions, certifications, licenses, permits, approval of policies and plans, adoption or implementation of programs, waivers, legislation proposed by DOT, and any renewals or approvals of the above. 

Environmental Compliance Team

The Agency has established an Environmental Compliance Team to enhance communication on environmental matters, coordinate related activities, and keep Agency personnel informed of new regulations, policy decisions, and interpretations impacting compliance. The team also develops compliance guidance, promotes consistent approaches and solutions where feasible, and fosters collaboration across the Agency.
