Sydney Plante, Policy Advisor

Sydney Plante is the Policy Advisor of the Maritime Administration (MARAD) at the U.S. Department of Transportation. As a member of the senior leadership team, she plays a pivotal role in advancing MARAD's strategic policy agenda.
Her role builds on a strong foundation in public service and legal support, with experience spanning congressional operations and legal research. Prior to joining MARAD, Sydney worked in the regional office of Secretary Sean Duffy during his tenure in congress, contributing to constituent services and regional policy outreach. Additionally, Sydney spent over three years as a paralegal, developing a sharp understanding of regulatory frameworks, case management, and administrative law.
Sydney holds a bachelor’s degree from the University of Wisconsin Madison where she studied Economics, Political Science, and Political Philosophy.
